Escape to an Enchanting Place
Connecticut Magazine, 2002, named Hill-Stead one of Connecticut’s nine “most-out-of-the-ordinary places for wedding receptions.” A National Historic Landmark with sweeping vistas, expansive acreage, a sunken garden and historic indoor spaces, this 1901 Country Place estate is the quintessential New England setting for intimate ceremonies, lavish receptions and corporate functions.
Large events may use the lawn for a tent and a rustic Arts & Crafts-style theater is perfect for small to mid-sized
functions. The Pope Board Room, an elegantly appointed space, serves as a bride’s dressing room and can also
be outfitted for high end corporate dinners.
Whatever your event, guests will have an opportunity to view the museum during a scheduled open house. Hill-Stead Museum boasts a remarkably intact collection including French Impressionist masterpieces by Degas, Cassatt
and Monet plus furnishings, ceramics and works on paper all arranged in their original domestic setting.
